A Little Place Called North East
Last weekend we headed off to a little town called North East in the corner of Maryland. It was a cute little town and as we drove through it we started to count all the lighthouses on the lawns of the people. I guess that's like a big deal out here. Anyways, we went to Elk Horn National Park and did a little hike to a small lighthouse on the Bay. It was really funny to hike around and Jackson had a great time looking for things like bugs, birds and leaves. We got there almost at sunset so it was cool to watch the sun and see all the big boats on the water. It was a lot of fun and it felt good to just get outside and walk around in nature for a while!

Empanadas anyone?
Alan and Amber, my brother and sister-in-law are always willing to try new things and new food. Amber is always asking me for new, fun recipes. So we decided to try a little chilean food last night and I made Empanadas! Okay so they actually turned out to be more American/Chilean/Mexican than just Chilean, but that's okay. I think you actually have to have lived in Chile to really appreciate them but I think ours turned out pretty yummy! So, just in case you want to know what recipe we used (which I'm sure you all are!) I will include it so you can try it at home. We used this recipe from bhg.com and then we added a bit here and there. And instead of making our own dough, we bought frozen discs at the grocery store! Yeah, we cheated but they turned out delicious! We also did a few cheese empanadas and a few with strawberries inside! I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Let's Go O's!
Friday night as soon as Alan got home from work we were OFF to Baltimore to go see the Orioles battle the Yankees! As we approached the baseball park, Alan told me that it was Student Night and that admission for students was only $6! So the locals were really taking advantage of that! Coming from little BYU-Idaho, I was surrounded by more cussing, beer and drunks they I have been in a while! The game was great--the Orioles beat the Yankees 8-2 and had an awesome 6th Inning. I think that Jackson and Marcus had a good time too!
After the game we headed down to DC to spend the night. The next morning Alan and Amber got up early to go to the temple and I stayed with the two boys watching cartoons. We then headed into DC to go to the Zoo--which turned out to be quite the trip! We couldn't find parking and so finally parked at a Metro station in Maryland and rode into the city. Jackson thought that was pretty great! The zoo was acutally a lot of fun too--it was hot out and the sun felt so good! We wen to the Smithsonian Zoo so that means it was free too! But we had a good trip!

Just an update...
I promised you I would come back from the stressed! And I am still alive! My sister in law Amber keeps on asking me that, as if she really does expect me to kill over! It's been a crazy last few weeks. Finals is never a lot of fun, especially when you are designing a website! And then my boss for last 10 months left Prosper and her job to me so I have been trying to learn to be Office Manager! It's nice to get a pay increase and a few more responsibilities but at the same time it kind of stresses me out! But I have some amazing friends who have been pushing me through to the end--so thanks for all your love and support all of you! Next week I'm off to Lancaster, PA for a few weeks of playing with my two cute nephews and a possible trip to NYC to visit a life-long friend of mine. So expect photos soon!

Finals Week...need I say more?
No new posts for a while because of lack of sleep and time and the pile of stress on my shoulders that just keeps getting bigger and bigger...remember those days? One of my Spanish professors yesterday told us to take deep breaths because he remembers all too well those days so I guess you never forget them! If you want to see what I am up to for Advanced Visual Media you can look here.
If the buttons aren't working yet, just wait until next Tuesday--they will be working for sure by then! And let's just hope I can finish all the little projects on top of the large ones...how I love finals! But by next Thursday all the stress (of school anyways) will be done! I'll try to reappear then!
