Just call me Mrs. Riquelme

Mrs. Riquelme...I know I've been married now for over 7 months but no one really calls me that yet. But, now it will be an every day occurrence because starting tomorrow I will be the newest 4th grade teacher at Aberdeen Elementary in Aberdeen, ID. I am so excited to start this new adventure.

When I came home from my mission I knew I wanted to learn more Spanish but didn't want to be a Spanish teacher because that is too specialized. So I got my BA in Spanish and Communications with a cluster in Education. This last year as I worked alongside a wonderful Kindergarten teacher at Fort Hall Elementary I knew I wanted to teach but lacked the certificate. Luckily I was able to enroll in the ABCTE program and after passing 2 very hard tests, was eligible for my teaching certificate.

I am so excited to teach in a school where my Spanish will be well used and much needed. Thanks to everyone's love and support. Pablo and I are truly feeling like things are coming together and feel very blessed. So I guess for now it's "GO TIGERS!"

Did I mention...

...that this guy right here will be here on August 20?! Yup. His interview was Wednesday and he got APPROVED! They told us that his Visa would take 7-10 days to get to him but on Friday morning the DHL guy stopped by to drop it off to him. So, he could have been coming sooner but we had decided to be safe rather than sorry and fly him here the 20th. But he's packing his bags and saying his goodbyes!

I'm sorry for not posting this earlier. My dear Aunt Sandy passed away this week. She wasn't married and had no children so my sister Laura and I pitched right in and helped my Mom and her siblings plan and carry out a beautiful funeral. I will post more about her later but thanks for all of your support and love. And I'm pretty sure Pablo and I's "Tia" Sandy helped him out just a little bit with his Visa. Thanks Sandy!

Yum-diddle-dum

I can't make bread. I have tried I promise. It always bakes too dark or not enough or doesn't rise. You get the picture. But I made this today. YUM. It was quick, easy, and delicious! And you don't have to feel guilty for taking another slice cause it's 100% whole wheat.

Click HERE to get the recipe. And click HERE to see the whole fun "Busy Nest" blog. It's one of my fav's.
